Quonnie has been a part of my family since my aunt purchased three lots in the early 1950s and built her cottage on Sunset Drive. Every summer after that was filled with fun, happy memories, and photographs of our times 'at the beach'. It was on East Beach where, through a mutual friend, I met Ray and Shirley Mott. It would be Shirley who would help my mother fullfill her dream of home ownership with the purchase of land in Charlestown where she lived happily with her cats and dogs. My children and their friends would never miss an opportunity to drive down to Quonnie for a day at the beach or whatever the season brought. When it came time to sell my mother's house, I followed my attorney's advice and interviewed various real estate brokers-but it was Ray's compassion and honesty that gave me the confidence that he would truly take care with my mother's home. And he did! attending to every detail and communicating to both sides, Ray made the process feel seamless. I have bought and sold other properties in both New York and Rhode Island and Ray's professionalism, expertise and committment stand out. His understanding of the market and the dynamics between buyers and sellers allowed me to trust and let go. When it came time to sell my aunt's cottage, of course it was Ray again, who brought the deal together quickly with the same expertise, understanding and compassion.

About twelve summers ago, we first came across Ray Mott. After spending many years on Nantucket, we were looking for a summer rental change. Ray was able to arrange for a two week stay in Central Beach aka
Quonnie. Little did any of us know that it was the beginning of a love affair with CB. Not knowing exactly what we were doing we drove through the area and wrote down addresses of homes we thought we would like to buy. The list was long and we sent it to Ray.

"Central Beach is a special place. Not many of the homes come on the market." Was his response. Then thanks to Ray a miracle happened. One of the houses did become available. In the middle of a bright, cold December morning we met with Ray, walked through the 1940ish home and bought it. We remodeled it and have lived their for the last eleven years. Not only did we find heaven geographically, we also found new friends who to this day feel like old life time friends.

Ah, but there is more. Not as romantic, but more.

Through Ray we have purchased, remodeled and sold two homes in Central Beach. Each was financially rewarding and with his continued guidance we remodeled them to accommodate future buyers. His keen sense of the market, the list he maintains of potential buyers, his ability to bring buyers and sellers together is an art form.

I first asked Ray Mott to represent me in 1994.  After that initial experience, I never once considered working with another broker.

I was an out-of-towner then, seeking a place to rent for a few summer weeks.   I described the kind of property I was looking for --- and Ray listened so carefully and chose so wisely, I ended up buying that same house three years later.

We have had the good fortune of coming to Quonnie for over 15 years and in that time doing business with and getting to know Ray Mott.  Over the years we have rented numerous homes from Ray and in 2011 Ray found us our ideal vacation home which we closed on in August. In 1987 my wife, Sue and I decided to take the kids for a week vacation at the beach in RI.  A friend recommended we call Ray at Properties Unlimited.  We met with Ray and rented a cottage one block from East beach.  We had a wonderful time with the kids at the beach and decided to look to purchase a cottage the next year

Ray spent a lot of time with us and showed us several alternative neighborhoods in Charlestown (Green Hill, Ninigret Pond) and of course East, Central and West beach areas (Quonnie.)  He was very professional, well prepared and clearly had a thorough knowledge of the area.  As with any real estate purchase there are trade-offs and his first-hand knowledge was a key factor in allowing us to make the right decision.  We purchased a home on Upland Road and rented it through his agency.

In 2000 Ray approached me about a house with great ocean views but needed a fair amount of work.  He was aware of the improvements we had done to the Upland Road place and thought I would be interested in this other place.  We worked with Ray for several weeks negotiating the price to a point where the improvements made financial sense.  We purchased the place on Midland Road and listed the old house for sale.  All worked out great and Ray has rented our new home for about 8 summers.

Just a note to tell the world what a superior job Ray and Rhonda did with our recent real estate transactions. We purchased a condo in Westerly and sold our family home in Charlestown. Neither one of these transactions occurred easily.

First of all, with Ray’s perseverance in our pursuit of our dream condo in Westerly, we prevailed. He updated us when the condo bylaws were amended and placed our offer speedily so that in the end we were allowed to bring both our dogs and paid a wonderful price for the property.
